2021- Foxcroft Farm renovation retrospective, and a December Exposé!

Christmas came at locomotive speed, and now is gone almost as quickly. Foxcroft was a "farmful", with 9 folks here over the holiday, and 12 for Christmas dinner, plus 4 dogs and 5 horses. Wonderful fun to have so much family, friends, and critters.

Eldest left today, the last to depart, making the house feel very quiet. Now, a new year is a direct hit in front of us, and I started thinking about the year nearly gone.

So, a photoblog of 2021 from the perspective of transformation in this lovely home.

January 2021:

Foxcroft Farm in the January snow. Note front porch and lawn are studded with signs of the reno happening within.

February 2021:

Youngest and I completed the reno of the upstairs family bath into a beautiful bright place.
The "snug" room that is Tod's office got finishing touches.

March 2021:

Kitchen refresh is complete.

Front entry hall got a little special.

April 2021:

Cute little WC with some lovely touches; antique sink and striking ceiling.

May 2021:

In went the kitchen garden of red cedar and raised beds.

June 2021:

The riding arena had "a little work done."

July 2021:

Middle barn got parged walls, a fresh coat of paint and cheery flower boxes.

Kitchen garden fence complete, and productive results.

August 2021:

Second story sleeping porch ready for hot August nights.

September 2021:

New manure composting structure put to use.

October 2021:

The back porch got all new railings, skirtings and paint.

The perennial beds between the pool and the kitchen garden created, and planted.

November 2021:

The chickens moved into their new digs, close to the house and more secure.

And the big reveal of the latest!

December 2021:

Foxcroft Farm was painted!

For contrast, here is the front of the house before.

It helps to look back over the year. What will 2022 bring to Foxcroft Farm? We shall all see!
